Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992 and began an education in marine science at the Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her journey in the commercial seafood industry in the year 1999. That year she was employed in Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut vessel, later converted into a fish tender. Bossard is currently married to Aritan and they've joined together to assert their claims to the industry. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. Otolith was established at the time of Philadelphia through Bella Bossard and is currently mother to two kids aged 3 and 1, Bossard. Her husband has a long career in the fishing industry that often means they stay apart for five months or longer. It is during this time that they're focused on their environment and financial goals. Since July of 2016, Bossard as well as her daughters Isabella aged 12 and Andre age 10 Andre age 10 return to Southeast Alaska annually each summer as deckhands during the wild salmon harvest in summer. With a small 42 troller Bossards are able to catch salmon using hooks. They work in conjunction with Aritan working in the local processing facility for a period of two weeks.
